The Challenge
Their current training location consisted of an old mobile trailer, housed in a small area inside their roof top heliport. Acquiring a secured structure to house their training efforts and meetings was of a top priority.
The Solution
PortaFab provided a two-story modular building, serving the dual purpose of a flight training facility and areas for high profile conferencing. The top floor provided 1,285 square-foot meeting area for conferences and larger classroom needs. The lower-level came complete with a 228 square-foot office, a 579 square-foot fitness room, and the new 727 square-foot classroom style setting for consolidated pilot training. The building also came complete with a restroom, dry erase boards, carpeted floors, rubber floor matting for the fitness room, a computer room, and a coffee bar.
The building was secured with an internal staircase connecting the two floors, fire suppression systems, HVAC, in-floor power and data lines, and shear wall panels to meet seismic requirements. The building and its contents were approved and permitted by the city, and a dedication ceremony was scheduled to present the new facility to the police department.
